Albertina Soliani writes to the Myanmar’s Ambassador in Italy about the arrest of U Gambira

Dear Mr. Ambassador

the recent arrest of U Gambira in Mandalay has deeply affected us. Our friendship with the people of Burma leads us to support the process of reconciliation and peace, trusting that there will not be any episodes of suffering anymore. The human story of U Gambira is to the attention of the world and we would like to hope that his health and freedom are protected at all times.

I would like to assure you that my words interpret the feelings of the Italian friends of Myanmar.

I ask you to transfer our appeal to the Authorities of your country so that they can consider appropriate actions for the release of U Gambira.
